District Disability Rehabiliation Centre Chittorgarh

Our Work  /  DDRC Chittorgarh

District Disability Rehabilitation Centre, Chittorgarh

For a Divyang person living in a village of Chittorgarh district, the barrier is rarely willingness — it is distance, cost and paperwork. Assessment happens in one place, therapy in another, the certificate in a third, and the scheme application somewhere else entirely.

The District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC) brings all of it together. Assessment, therapy, assistive devices, certification support, government scheme assistance and community outreach are delivered from a single centre and taken out into the district through camps.

Services are provided free of cost to persons with disability and their families.

Services

What the DDRC Provides

Disability Assessment

Evaluation of the type and degree of disability by qualified professionals, with documentation prepared for the medical board and certification process.

Certification & UDID Support

Hands-on help with the disability certificate and UDID card — filling forms, assembling documents, tracking the application and following up until the card is in hand.

Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation

Regular physiotherapy, exercise therapy and rehabilitation programmes for mobility, muscle strength, posture and pain, planned individually for each person.

Assistive Devices & Aids

Assessment for and provision of wheelchairs, tricycles, crutches, walkers, callipers, hearing aids and other aids and appliances, with fitting and follow-up.

Awareness & Early Identification

Camps and outreach in villages and schools to identify disability early, correct misinformation, and connect families with services before years are lost.

Government Scheme Assistance

Guidance and application support for pensions, scholarships, travel concessions, aid schemes and other entitlements that Divyangjan are eligible for but rarely told about.

Community Based Rehabilitation

We Do Not Wait for People to Reach Us

A large part of the DDRC’s work happens outside the centre. Our team travels to villages and gram panchayats across Chittorgarh district to run identification and assessment camps, distribute assistive devices, demonstrate home-based exercises to family members, and counsel parents who have been told for years that nothing can be done.

Community-based rehabilitation also means working with schools, anganwadis, panchayats and local health workers so that a child with a disability is spotted at three years old rather than thirteen.

Who Can Access the DDRC

Any person with a disability — of any age and any category — living in Chittorgarh district, along with their family members and caregivers. There is no fee and no referral requirement.
