Serving Humanity Is Serving God

Welcome to Bhagwati Seva evam Sikshan Sansthan, a registered non-profit organisation working from Sadar Bazar, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan since 7 July 2000.

We work with three groups of people whom society most often overlooks — Divyangjan (persons with disability), senior citizens without family support, and orphaned children. For each of them we provide not occasional relief but continuous care: a home, food, medicine, therapy, schooling and the training needed to live independently.

Twenty-five years on, that work runs through four service centres and three colleges, and reaches more than 1,000 families a year. It is funded by donors, CSR partners and well-wishers, and it is delivered free of cost to every beneficiary.

The Sansthan in Brief

Our Principle

Seva Is Dharma

“Seva is Dharma” is not a slogan we adopted for a website. It is the working rule of this organisation, and it decides three things.

First, that no one is charged. A family in distress should not have to prove they can pay before they are helped. Our homes, school, therapy and rehabilitation services are free.

Second, that dignity comes before charity. A resident of our Old Age Home is a guest, not a case. A Divyang person at our DDRC is a citizen exercising an entitlement, not a supplicant. A child in our care is being raised, not warehoused.

Third, that the work must outlast us. That is why we train teachers, run colleges and build institutions — so the care continues long after any one of us has stopped.

Message From the Secretary

“When we started in 2000, we had no building and no funding — only a list of people in our own neighbourhood who needed help and had nowhere to go.

Twenty-five years later, that list has become an Old Age Home, an Orphan Home, a Special School and a rehabilitation centre. What has not changed is why we do it. Every elder here is someone’s mother or father. Every child here could have been ours.

If you visit us, you will not be shown a presentation. You will be shown the kitchen, the classrooms and the people. That is the only report worth giving.”
